The 2030 Sustainable Development Agenda - a call to action!
September 25, 2020 marks the fifth anniversary of the United Nations Sustainable Development Summit in New York City. The most important result was the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and thus the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, which unfortunately is often forgotten to this day. At Wisefood, we stand behind this agenda and want to draw attention to these goals on our fifth anniversary. But what are these 17 goals anyway?

Basically, the 17 SDGs are to be understood as urgent and concrete calls for action for all countries worldwide. The overarching goals of this agenda are to tackle poverty and other disadvantages hand-in-hand with strategies to improve health and education, reduce inequality and boost economic growth while combating climate change and preserving our oceans and forests. The 17 SGDs are the direct starting points for countries to initiate changes at all levels by 2030.At Wisefood, we are primarily concerned with SDG 12: responsible consumption and production. In each of our manufacturing and work processes, we aim to keep our CO2 footprint as low as possible, to only use renewable raw materials and at the same time to use as many by-products from other productions as possible. We also obtain our raw materials only from certified partners in Germany in order to keep our delivery routes as short as possible. We believe that by taking a pragmatic approach to sustainability, you can make a difference in both the small and big decisions as an entrepreneur. This is how we contribute to SDG 12 every day, aiming for a more sustainable world by 2030. Source:https://sdgs.un.org/goals(accessed on September 4th, 2020)
