From idea to brand – the wisefood story
What began as a student project has become one of the fastest growing food tech companies in Germany in just a few years .
With our edible drinking straws and spoons made from apple fibers We've put a byproduct of apple juice production to good use – and replaced millions of plastic products. This has resulted in a comprehensive product range : from compostable cups and packaging ...up to innovative formulas for new materials.
w isefood is known from numerous television programs – including Galileo, Die Höhle der Löwen (Shark Tank Germany ), and the ARD Mittagsmagazin (ARD Midday Magazine ). We have received funding and awards, such as the "Germany – Land of Ideas" award, the TRANSGOURMET Newcomer Award , Top 50 Cleantech Startups Worldwide , METRO NX FOOD , and the EIT Food Award . Our international expansion was also supported by the German Accelerator – a funding program for young German companies established by the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy.
Today we supply restaurants, retailers, and large-scale consumers – in Germany and more than 20 other countries. Our products have won numerous awards and are available in over 5,000 stores . Many of these are already climate neutral or are based on renewable, biodegradable raw materials.
