Make your own edible spoon recipe from Wisefood

Would you like to make edible spoons yourself? Surprise your guests with an edible and homemade spoon? Edible spoons are gaining popularity through TV shows like The Lion's Den and others. We were with Wisefood ourselves at "The Lion's Den" and presented our edible products. Edible Spoons Recipe

We have the right edible spoon recipe / instructions for you for savory and sweet dishes. The best thing about it: You will probably already have most of the ingredients at home! For Savory Vegan Edible Spoons you will need:
  • 200 grams of wheat flour
  • 3 tbsp olive oil
  • 50ml of water
  • 1 tsp salt
  • Metal spoon in the size of your choice
Preparation: The ingredients are processed in a bowl to form a smooth, firm dough. This is chilled for about 30 minutes. Preheat the oven to 180°C for a fan oven.

    The chilled dough is rolled out to about 5 mm. As a template for a cutting pattern, one of the metal spoons you have chosen is placed on the dough and the outline is cut out. It's easy, of course, with a cookie cutter in the shape of a spoon. The cut or gouged shapes are pressed onto the convex side of a lightly greased metal spoon. After all spoons are covered with batter on one side, they are baked on a baking sheet for 10 - 15 minutes until they turn light brown. Leave to cool completely. The number of finished spoons depends on the size of the selected mold. Make sure you make a few more spoons than you have guests, though. For example, serve them in a tall glass with a pretty napkin. The sweet version is particularly suitable for coffee or desserts. For this you need:
    • 125g cold butter
    • 200 grams of flour
    • 100 grams of sugar
    • 1 packet of vanilla sugar
    • 1 egg
    • some flour for the dough processing
    Knead the ingredients into an even dough. If you like, you can also mix some cocoa or cocoa fiber into the dough. If the batter gets too dry, simply add a little more butter or a small dash of milk. Let the dough rest in the fridge for 30 minutes and preheat the oven to 180°C for a fan oven. To make the spoons, follow the steps outlined above (see: Making the Spoons ). Then bake the spoons in the preheated oven for about 7-10 minutes and allow to cool completely.
