The rectangular palm leaf bowl from LEEF (23 x 16 x 2.5 cm, 400 ml) is the flat portion bowl: snacks, side dishes, pastries, or street food are clearly arranged on the base, while the 2.5 cm rim keeps sauces in place. As palm leaf is grease- and moisture-resistant, even marinated foods will not soak through. Pressed from a single leaf of the areca palm, each bowl is unique.

What makes it special: Palm leaf is a waste product that receives a second life according to the waste-to-value principle. The bowl is certified home-compostable (DIN CERTCO, Reg. No. 9P0064) or compostable according to EN 13432 (Reg. No. 7P0602) – after use, it simply goes onto the compost.

This makes it the perfect choice for barbecues, champagne receptions, weddings, catering, or business events: This is event tableware with style!

Frequently Asked Questions

Yes, the use of palm leaves, which are a byproduct of betel nut palm plantations, and the resource-saving manufacturing process make the palm leaf tableware extremely environmentally friendly.

For our disposable plates, the palm leaves are washed, tied together, and then dried. We ensure that sustainability is a key aspect of this process, so the water used to wash the palm leaves is collected and reused to irrigate the plantations.

The leaves are then pressed and cut into the desired shape. This is how you get your palm leaf products, completely without chemical additives, and the few processing steps also mean that very little energy and resources are used.

Our sustainable disposable palm leaf plates are made from palm leaves sourced from India. It is important to us that we work with verified facilities there that produce our palm leaf products under fair working and payment conditions, and of course, according to the highest standards.

Palm leaves are a byproduct of betel nut palm plantations in production facilities. In most cases, these leaves are used as natural fertilizer or simply discarded. To give the palm leaves a second life according to the "waste-to-value" principle, disposable tableware is being produced from them.
