Whether coffee to go, matcha latte, hot tea, cold soft drinks, smoothies or freshly squeezed juice – our sustainable paper cups with water-based coating are sturdy, drip-proof, space-saving stackable, and resistant to cold and heat. And all this without PE or PLA.

What makes our kraft paper cups different from others? The coating. While most sustainable coffee-to-go cups on the market use an inner coating of PLA (corn starch plastic) or PE (plastic), our paper cups rely on a water-based coating. Other kraft paper cups are therefore only industrially compostable – ours are the only disposable cups that are also home compostable (DIN certified). Alternatively, they can be recycled in waste paper or disposed of in an industrial composting facility. Three ways, one good end.

The natural kraft paper from FSC®-certified forests is unbleached. The characteristic brown color makes the cup an eye-catcher on every counter and emphasizes sustainability without many words.

Suitable for professional use in cafes, bakeries, food trucks, bistros, snack bars, kiosks, by baristas, in hotels, catering or event gastronomy. Our single-walled paper cups with water-based coating are available in sizes 100 ml, 200 ml, 300 ml and 400 ml, in white or brown and with matching lids.

This Wisefood paper cup is designed for daily use at counters and bars – made from unbleached kraft paper in a production facility certified to FSSC 22000 and ISO 14001. Further information on FSC® can be found at www.fsc.org.

Frequently Asked Questions

Yes. The 400 ml paper cup is DIN-certified home-compostable (DIN 54600) and degrades under home composting conditions within 180 days; additionally, it is industrially compostable according to EN 13432. Home-compostable means it also degrades at the lower temperatures of a garden compost – an industrial composting plant with high rotting temperatures is not required. This is made possible by the water-based coating; products with PE or PLA coatings usually do not achieve this classification, and PLA-coated products are mostly only industrially compostable. The degradation time depends on the conditions in the compost (moisture, temperature, shredding).

Yes – and that's what makes it special. Classic disposable tableware with a PE coating does not belong in the waste paper bin, but in the yellow bin, because the plastic layer can hardly be separated from the fiber during paper recycling. This cup, on the other hand, is certified as recyclable (DIN Recyclable): the water-based coating can be processed in the paper cycle, and the fibers from kraft paper (FSC® Mix Credit) are recovered. Alternatively, it can be home or industrially composted – so there are three approved disposal methods.

With a filling volume of 400 ml (500 ml when filled to the brim, equivalent to 16 oz), this cup is the large size in the series: for latte macchiato, large filter coffee, chai latte, iced coffee, as well as soft drinks, lemonades, and iced tea – hot or cold, it remains drip-proof and dimensionally stable. For espresso and classic coffee to go, smaller cups from the same series with 100, 200, and 300 ml are available.
The cup is also designed for counter service: stackable to save space, easy to handle at approx. 13 g per cup, and produced in an FSSC 22000 and ISO 22000 certified facility. Available in packs of 50 for parties and smaller businesses, as well as in cartons of 1,000 units (20 x 50) and as a 5-carton unit with 5,000 units for cafes, kiosks, caterers, and resale. Certified disposal via waste paper or compost also simplifies waste separation in operations.
