The rectangular palm leaf bowl from LEEF (24 x 15 x 4 cm, 600 ml) is the menu bowl for a full portion: pasta, curries, salads, or oven dishes fit perfectly behind the 4 cm high rim, even with sauce. Since palm leaf is grease and moisture-resistant, nothing will soak through, even with liquid components. Pressed from a single leaf of the areca palm, every bowl is unique.

The special feature: palm leaf is a residual material that is given a second life based on the waste-to-value principle. The bowl is certified home-compostable (DIN CERTCO, Reg. No. 9P0064) or compostable according to EN 13432 (Reg. No. 7P0602) – after use, it simply goes into the compost.

For our disposable plates, the palm leaves are washed, tied together, and then dried. We ensure that sustainability is a key aspect of this process, so the water used to wash the palm leaves is collected and reused to irrigate the plantations.

The leaves are then pressed and cut into the desired shape. This is how you get your palm leaf products, completely without chemical additives, and the few processing steps also mean that very little energy and resources are used.

Our sustainable disposable palm leaf plates are made from palm leaves sourced from India. It is important to us that we work with verified facilities there that produce our palm leaf products under fair working and payment conditions, and of course, according to the highest standards.
