This round paper lid with a diameter of 11.5 cm is designed for the large 600 ml to-go soup cup. It is made of unbleached kraft paper (FSC® Mix Credit) with a water-based coating free of PE and PLA, and fits the cup with the same diameter.

The special feature: The water-based coating does not require PE or PLA. The product is certified as DIN Home Compostable (DIN 54600), DIN Industrial Compostable (EN 13432), and DIN Recyclable.

A matching lid is particularly helpful for serving larger portions with toppings. This allows stews, curries, and bowls to be prepared for pickup, catering, or delivery services.

Yes. The paper lid is DIN-certified home compostable (DIN 54600) and biodegrades under home composting conditions within 180 days; in addition, it is industrially compostable according to EN 13432. Home compostable means it decomposes even at the lower temperatures of a garden compost heap – an industrial composting facility with high rotting temperatures is not required. This is made possible by the water-based coating; products with PE or PLA coatings generally do not achieve this classification, as PLA-coated products are usually only industrially compostable. The degradation time depends on the conditions in the compost (moisture, temperature, fragmentation).

Yes – and that is what makes it special. Classic disposable tableware with a PE coating does not belong in the paper recycling bin, but in the yellow bin, because the plastic layer can hardly be separated from the fiber during paper recycling. This lid, however, is certified as recyclable (DIN Recyclable): the water-based coating can be processed in the paper cycle, and the kraft paper fibers (FSC® Mix Credit) are recovered. Alternatively, it can be home or industrially composted – so there are three approved disposal routes.

The lid is designed for the 600 ml soup cup of the same series (Ø 11.5 x 10.8 cm) and fits snugly on the rim – ensuring stews, curries, ramen, and bowls reach the customer securely sealed. For the smaller soup cups with 200, 300, and 400 ml (Ø 9.8 cm), the paper lid is available in Ø 9.8 cm, and for the 40 ml sauce cup, the lid in Ø 6.15 cm.

The lid is also designed for quick sealing during operations: it is precisely fitted, lightweight at approx. 9.8 g per piece, and comes from production certified according to FSSC 22000 and ISO 22000. Available in a 50-pack for parties and smaller businesses, as well as in a box of 500 pieces (10 x 50) and a 5-box unit of 2,500 pieces for snack bars, delivery services, caterers, and resale. Certified disposal via waste paper or compost also simplifies waste separation on site.
