This round paper lid with a 9.8 cm diameter is made of unbleached kraft paper (FSC® Mix Credit) with a water-based coating – no PE, no PLA. It fits perfectly on the 200, 300, and 400 ml soup cups (9.8 cm diameter), making soups, curries, and desserts ready for transport. The cup and lid are made of the same material and are disposed of together via waste paper or compost.

The special feature: The water-based coating allows for genuine home compostability and recyclability in the paper cycle – unlike PE- or PLA-coated disposable tableware, which is predominantly sorted out during paper recycling. The lid carries the certifications DIN Home Compostable (DIN 54600, degradation in 180 days), DIN Industrial Compostable (EN 13432), and DIN Recyclable.

In daily use, the lid ensures clean transport and easy stacking of filled cups. Perfect for delivery services, take-away, snack bars, and catering.

Yes. The paper lid is DIN-certified home compostable (DIN 54600) and decomposes within 180 days under home composting conditions; additionally, it is industrially compostable according to EN 13432. Home compostable means it also decomposes at the lower temperatures of a garden compost pile—an industrial composting facility with high decomposition temperatures is not required. This is made possible by the water-based coating; products with PE or PLA coatings generally do not achieve this classification, as PLA-coated products are usually only industrially compostable. The decomposition time depends on the conditions in the compost (moisture, temperature, fragmentation).

Yes – and that is what makes it special. Classic disposable tableware with a PE coating does not belong in waste paper, as the plastic layer can hardly be separated from the fiber during paper recycling. This lid, by contrast, is certified as recyclable (DIN Recyclable): the water-based coating can be processed in the paper cycle, and the kraft paper fibers (FSC® Mix Credit) are recovered. Alternatively, it can be composted at home or industrially – meaning there are three approved disposal routes.

The lid is designed for the soup cups in the same range with 200, 300, and 400 ml capacities – all three sizes have an identical opening diameter of Ø 9.8 cm, meaning one lid type covers the entire size range. This simplifies storage and packing processes in operation. For the 600 ml soup cup (Ø 11.5 cm), the matching paper lid is available in Ø 11.5 cm, and for the 40 ml sauce cup, the lid in Ø 6.15 cm.

The lid is also designed for quick closing in operation: precisely fitting, lightweight at approx. 14 g per piece, and from FSSC 22000 and ISO 22000 certified production. Available in 50-packs for parties and smaller businesses, as well as in cartons of 500 pieces (10 x 50) and as a 5-carton unit with 2,500 pieces for snack bars, delivery services, caterers, and resale. Certified disposal via waste paper or compost further simplifies waste separation in the workplace.
