About us: Wisefood is a food-tech company from Germany with headquarters in Garching near Munich. It is financially supported by Delivery Hero, one of the largest food delivery companies in the world and a DAX member. We develop and distribute edible and sustainable alternatives to plastic drinking straws, disposable tableware and cutlery. The products are known from well-known TV shows such as "The Lion's Den", Galileo, ARD Mittagsmagazin and many more. The fast-growing product portfolio includes edible drinking straws, edible spoons and stirrers, plates, cups and now also pasta / noodle drinking straws in various sizes and shapes. Wisefood is probably the supplier with the largest product portfolio of edible tableware.
The edible straws are a very good alternative to drinking straws made of glass, stainless steel, silicone, paper, PLA, plastic or even reusable straws that have to be cleaned with a cleaning brush. Wisefood drinking straws are very trendy and are available in different lengths between 20 and 25 cm and diameters of 3mm/5mm, 6mm, 8mm. Theoretically even 10mm diameters are possible. Wisefood protects its own innovations through patent applications and utility models and sells its products in over 25 countries around the world. The edible stalks are made of, among other things, durum wheat semolina, wheat gluten and apple fibre - a waste material that is obtained from the apple during apple juice production.
Wisefood also offers edible spoons and ice cream spoons made of cocoa and with chocolate in the shop.
The demand is increasing enormously due to the upcoming plastic bans in many countries. In addition to the EU ban on plastics, countries such as Canada, India, South Korea and the USA are also banning disposable plastics. This usually also includes bio-based and biodegradable plastics such as PLA.
Wisefood products can be found at well-known retailers such as Transgourmet, ALDI, Migros, EDEKA, REWE, Hofer and many more.
